To Request a Doctor Dog or
Professor Dog |
To
request a Doctor-Dog or a Professor-Dog team, please: 1.
We
provide our free services to only ·
Non-profit organizations for the vulnerable populations or ·
Parents (or legal guardians) of
children/teenagers with emotional, health, learning, or literacy challenges ·
We apologize but could not respond to
other enquires since we receive thousands of emails every year
2.
Please
review our programs
(scratch here) and choose the
potential programs you would like to implement or participate in. J
3.
Please
get support from your management and co-workers before requesting our
service. If you have already requested
a therapy dog from another organization, please wait for their response before
contacting us. Thanks. 4.
Please
select a permanent staff member to contact us. 5.
If
you are working for a non-profit organization: please email admin@caringcanine.ca with the following information: ·
The potential program your team has
selected (see # 2 above) ·
The goals you and your clients want to
achieve through our service (briefly) ·
A very brief overview of the services
your team provides. Please skip this
if it is obvious (e.g. you are a teacher). ·
A very brief description of the client
population. ·
Your organization’s Web site. ·
Your name, title, and contact
information (email and phone) at work.
·
A statement confirming that your
management and co-workers support the initiative (see #3 above). Because we respect the policies of all the organizations we collaborate
with and have limited resources, we apologize but could not respond to
requests without this confirmation statement. 6.
If
you are a parent (or the legal guardian), please email admin@caringcanine.ca with the following information: ·
The potential program your child would
like to participate in (see # 2 above)
·
The goals you and your child would like
to achieve through our service (briefly) ·
The first three letters/numbers of your
postal code (e.g. M5A) and how far your child could travel ·
Your name, relationship to the child
(e.g. parent or legal guardian), and contact information (email and phone) How
long would you have to wait for a Doctor-Dog or Professor-Dog team? In general, we do have
a long waiting list for our dogs. But
sometimes, a request is answered immediately because everything just falls
into place. We prioritize a request
based on its benefits to the client(s), its urgency, and volunteer
resources. Our goal is to make the
best use of our limited resources for the maximal benefits of our
communities. Would I always get an
email reply? If your email includes all the information listed in item #5 or
#6 above, we would always try to reply to your email within 1-2 weeks. However, because we receive numerous requests and have a
waiting list for our dogs, we apologize but could not respond to requests
that do not include all the information listed in item #5 or #6. Our goal is to prioritize our limited resources
on requests that would benefit the vulnerable population the most. |
