This is the Kidron Valley, or the Valley of Kings. This is supposedly the valley from which
David attacked the Jebusites in order to found his capital, and also the valley in which the
rapture is supposed to happen. On the left of the photo is the Mount of Olives, and the many
graves in the valley are really people who want to be first in line at rapture-time.
The tombs in the valley come from about 800-700 B.C. One tomb that cannot be seen in this photo
is Absalom's Tomb, which was purportedly erected by Absalom, one of David's many sons in order to
mourn the fact that he was unable to procreate.
